Frequently Asked Questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Merging happens in your browser using pdf-lib. You can verify with your browser's DevTools Network tab — no request is made when you drop files in or click Merge.
Can I change the order of files before merging?
Yes. Use the up/down arrows on each file to reorder them. The merged PDF follows the order shown in the list.
Are there any file size or count limits?
No hard-coded limits. In practice, merging tens of files or up to a few hundred megabytes works smoothly. Very large batches may exhaust browser memory — split them into smaller groups.
Does it preserve bookmarks, form fields, and links?
Page content and internal links within each source PDF are preserved. Bookmarks (outline) and cross-file links are dropped — merged files start with a flat structure. Form fields are copied but may need renaming to avoid collisions.
